Riverside Apartment - sleeps up to six

Modern and spacious, our beautiful open-plan three-bedroom apartment features wonderful riverfront views, full kitchen facilities and a balcony overlooking the Waikato River. Riverside Apartment is a light and airy holiday home covering 164m² so you'll discover our apartment is a better alternative to a hotel or motel when staying in Taupo. The well-equipped kitchen, dining area, generous lounge space and two bathrooms complete the living area - found all on one floor above the secure, private, double-car garaging.

Free wifi, onsite swimming pool and kayaks

High speed internet is complimentary and unlimited and our facilities include an onsite swimming pool (heated from the October school holidays through until April - pool towels are provided) and for our guests the free use of our kayaks. Life jackets and paddles for the kayaks are also provided.

Close to Taupo town

Located just a few minutes walk from Taupo central, Riverside Apartment 2 is located in the Watermark Villas complex, a secure group of apartments in a peaceful and quiet riverside suburb. Being close to restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets offers plenty of options to self-cater in the apartment, take a picnic to the grassy areas in front of the apartment or enjoy some of the fine dining or casual eating available in town.

Bedrooms, sleeping and bathrooms

The master bedroom with wonderful riverfront views has a queen bed and master ensuite. The second bedroom has two single beds with an additional sofa-bed in the living room catering for up to six people. A second bathroom allows for privacy and flexibility, ideal for two couples or a family group.

Living, dining and entertainment

The open plan living room is a spacious area that has a water view from every corner. Our kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, twin dishwashers, oven and hob, microwave oven and all the essentials necessary to self-cater. The balcony has outdoor furniture to relax on and take in the superb river views while the kids are inside watching TV or streaming their favourite Netflix shows - all complimentary for our guests.

The dining table comfortably seats six and the breakfast bar has stools for taking breakfast on the stone benchtop before hitting the lake, river, trail or town!

The apartment is double-glazed throughout making it extremely quiet and wall heaters provide warmth to every room. Thermal drapes can be drawn for extra privacy and warmth in winter.

Children welcome

Kids and young people love Riverside Apartment for many reasons. The free kayaks are fantastic for paddling in the tranquil river directly in front of the apartment. They are extremely stable and safe, though of course adult supervision is essential for younger children.

Try fishing for trout (we have caught many from the riverbanks) and of course the swimming pool is always popular. For the months when the pool is not available (after Easter until the October school holidays) there are several hotpools and baths nearby - try the AC Baths for a family-friendly mid-winter swim.

For the very little ones, a high-chair and portable baby bath are provided and a safety gate can be fitted to the top of the stairs if you have infants or toddlers.

For the bigger kids and those that need to stay connected the wifi is free, fast and unlimited.

Garage and laundry

Double-car garaging is secure and located underneath the apartment. A set of stairs leads from the garge to the apartment level where all living and sleeping areas are located. A washing machine is provided and clothes may be hung and dried on the clothesline located in the garage, or on the clothes rack.

Wake up to natural light and water views

Along with the living area and kitchen, the master bedroom is blessed with stunning views of the Waikato River. Tastefully decorated, this room has two double wardrobes so you can settle in, unpack and make yourself at home. The adjacent ensuite is fitted with its own shower and toilet.

There is nothing quite like waking up slowly to the beautiful view of the tranquil waters flowing past. The queen bed is comfortable and you will find this room particularly tranquil and peaceful.

Observe the birdlife in the river below, look for trout or watch the kids paddle up and down the river in the kayaks that are provided free of charge.

Central Taupo location

Walk from our riverfront apartment to the Taupo marina for a coffee and then around the lakefront to the amazing vista of New Zealand's great lake, Lake Taupo. An easy stroll to supermarkets (or home after a night on the town) means that our apartment is the ideal spot to explore Taupo on foot.

Close to the Huka Falls and other attractions

For tourists new to our beautiful country, there is no better place to stay in Taupo, as cultural activities and tourist hot-spots such as the Huka Falls and geothermal areas are just a few minutes away from Riverside Apartment. Skiing on Mount Ruapehu or walking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing are also wonderful experiences, all within easy reach.

Trout fishing either on Lake Taupo or in one of the many rivers and tributaries is world class.
